Welfare Assistance Scheme
The Society wants to assist you with your expenses for chronic medical conditions, together with private prescriptions.
However, we will not be able to assist with the cost of prescription medications that fall under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme as we did in the past.
We have combined the assistance for over the counter medications and costs associated with living with a chronic condition.
The Society offers our Members assistance on the cost of Private prescription medications. An official Tax Invoice from your pharmacy is required to seek this assistance.
In addition to the area of chronic medical conditions, we are happy to accept requests for assistance with mobility aids, and home modifications (not covered by any other external assistance), The Society will also assist in the purchase of hearing aids up, subject to the discretion of the Society.
A further initiative for members is the availability of funeral assistance for families of deceased members and/or their spouses on application to the Society.
Launched from 1st July 2022, the Society now will assist those members who have a child with Newborn Assistance. A copy of the child's Birth Certificate is required when applying for the assistance.
Privacy of the nature of any request for assistance received from members is assured.
